Ryders’ Diamond Bicycling Mags Gear of the Day

Gear Of The Day: Ryders Eyewear Diamond

“Which brings us, quite circuitously, to Ryders’ latest spec, the $50 Diamond. It features a one-piece, distortion-free, shield-style lens that stretches from temple to temple in a broad, fairly attractive arch. The lens blocks all UVA/B baddies, and you can get the Diamond in three different lens color options, gray, orange or brown. We tested two pairs of Diamond shades; one with brown and one with orange lenses. The brown is great for bright days and the orange works better when it’s cloudy or for mountain biking in mixed shade and sun. For either pursuit the fit is solid, with the adjustable nose gripper and hydrophilic rubber there and at the temple keeping the shades comfortably perched.”

Ryders’ Jolt Sunglasses Win Mountain Bike Magazine’s ‘Best of 2006′ Award

Posted by: Mike Geraci | 18 October 2006 | 3:30 pm

MtnBike_Award North Vancouver, BC (October 2006) – The Ryders Jolt has been awarded ‘The Best of Mountain Bike 2006’ by the Editors of Rodale’s Mountain Bike magazine. The Mountain Bike staff presented the award on the last day of the Interbike trade show, handing the 20 pound machined aluminum plaque to Ryders’ CEO Brent Martin on the show floor.

“I was completely blown away,” said Martin. “We’re really excited Mountain Bike recognized the quality of our sunglasses, and honored they chose our Jolt style when they had so many options.”

The review praised both the Jolt’s style and value, confirming Ryders’ core belief that quality eyewear can exist without an outrageous price tag.

“With their great peripheral coverage, lenses and a frame shape that are fashionable enough to look less bike geek and more hipster, and at a palatable price, the Jolt is just our brand of smart eyeball protection,” read Mountain Bike’s review.
